My go-to race shoe for any distance is the Saucony Ride 17. Why? Because it’s the fastest shoe I own! I only started running 4 months ago so I don’t need anything faster or fancier at this stage.

Dankeschön 🙏 Puma and Adidas sound very interesting. For my easy runs I use the Gel Nimbus 25 and the Invincible 3. For faster runs or intervall, I love the Tri Noosa 15. Street to Trail I like my Nike Pegasus Trail 4.

I'm tempted to buy the white sl2 - as all of my trainers are now white (nimbus mirai, nova and kayano) but I love the vibe from your colorway. Seems like they're releasing the other colors per region for that model. Thanks for the review Ed!

Only a couple runs in, but the mizuno wave rebellion flash 2 is getting a lot of love from me. Seems to suit my gait nicely at a range of paces. And on my preferred surface, the north face Vective enduris is still an all time classic.

The alphafly V3 is a huge disappointment for me and the Diadora cara carbon, the Hoka Cielo x1 and mach 6 were all good choices for me this year..would like to try the Puma nitro elite 3 but it's not available yet...might have to dust off a new pr of NB elite V3 for a 10k at July 4th races..with the right insoles it's crazy bouncy..reminds of the invincible V-1 out of the box bounce before they went flat..

I love the Sky Paris. But I’m running next marathon in the Puma. Much more stable. Can’t afford any more race shoes!

Puma have got issues with insole manufacturing at the moment returned several pairs from different online retsilers, IMO material changed and is no good when gets 🔥🥵. Unlike earlier models, so be aware. The midsole also has issues too, as goes very mushy in hot westher, so much that I feel makes unpredictable impact & unstable, gives me ankle & calve aches for last 2 weeks, did not have that last years model, in fact now using last years again & shelved current model until autumn westher. Ed do some durometer readings at 22c or after a run a dvyou will see a massive differnce in the side wall metrics.

What's your favourite light low stack shoe currently? Something like Adidas Adios or Puma Liberate. I'm waiting for the new update to them

Had the magnify 2 as my first ever puma runners and they are super! I'm eyeing for the deviate 2 as it's on sale at the moment.

Great video as always, any particular shoe you would recommend if on marathon prep but having to go on a family holiday to Disney world in, a bit of a do it all shoe where I can get some training in combined with 20,000+ steps a day ? I don’t want to sacrifice the shoes in my current rotation 😂

Forgive me Ed for not watching the whole video but became obvious half way through that these are not going to top my much loved V2 which I have just 150 miles on so tons of miles left so it will be a nay for this version. Thanks Ed 👍

Is it worth buying the 3s now or just wait for them to go on discount. I have the 2s and still have a ton miles on them.

Ed, thanks for the review, try several Puma running shoes, such as Forever Nitro, Magnify Nitro, sizing is always the issue for me… size 5 are too big and size 4.5 is too narrow in the toe box. Sadly in the end, I have returned them all. I am also slightly overpronate not sure the DN3 is good for overpronate or not? Any advice?

Didn't get along with the V2 really. Felt super firm to me in the forefoot so I'll just go for the SB V2 and be done. Maybe the Mizuno Flash 2 to complement the SB V2...

I got an early version of this shoe from a French company that didn't respect the release date. 😂 I have 100 km on them. I think it's an improvement except for the heel fit for me. I had the same size as the Deviate 2s (men's North American size 9). I wish they would have made the heel like the Velocity 3s. I wouldn't say I like the heels as, like you, I had a heel slip in my left shoe, but not the right shoe with average lacing. 🤷🏻 I don't usually do a runner's loop, but for this shoe, I did, which solved the problem, but the heel is a fail IMHO. And that external heel shark thingy should be forgotten as it doesn't do anything that I could tell. As you mentioned, a simple, boring, harder insert heel counter works well and would have improved the heel. I don't care about the weight as I will use it for a daily trainer and the Velocity 3s, which I will likely use more than this one. I prefer this upper over the last version, except for the heel fit. Thanks for the candid review. 😊

The big nitro on the shoe doesn't bother me as they're on my feet so the feeling is the important bit...the V2 is nice used them for a half and we're fine. Now waiting for price crash of the V2 to pick up a spare pair.

How is the heel? Unfortunately i had blisters after 4,5km.....in version 2.

Never tried any of the Puma range but this hasn’t increased my interest unfortunately. Great review though, always appreciate your honesty Edd🙌🏽

Interesting review. I can't see a world where I won't buy a pair of these, but I'll definitely wait for them to get rid of that Nitro text on other models. V2 was my parkrun shoe of choice, interesting you think this'll be better at longer distance stuff.
